The museum is located in the Bermúdez Tower (16th century), declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1976 and linked to the Valle-Inclán family, since it belonged to his grandparents. The museum, a municipal initiative, was created in 1986 with the aim of preserving and disseminating witnesses of the writer's work and life.
Ramón del Valle-Inclán (1866 - 1936) is one of the most representative Galician writers of literature in the Spanish language, characterized by his innovative vocation, social resentment and grotesque technique, and the eternal memory of the rural world of Galicia. In the museum there are details of the writer's life and his artistic production, as well as references to the time in which he lived and the personalities with whom he shared concerns and profession.
In the museum there are first and rare editions of the author's books, original manuscripts, period photographs, fine art objects (sculpture, painting, caricature), costumes, sets and theatrical posters. In addition, it has a room for temporary exhibitions and an auditorium in which different cultural activities are organized throughout the year.
